I then plugged it back up. The plugs were clean, no cracks or breaks. But, I didn't try to start the bike with it unplugged. 2007 Ninja 250r SOLD. 2002 Kawasaki Vulcan Mean Streak 1500.I'll bet you'll find the battery is toast. Every time the battery drops below 12.4v, it sulphates. Too much sulphation, and it no longer holds an adequate charge. The Vulcan 500 should have no problems starting or operating in very cold temperatures (other than being just a little fickle like any carbed bike, but it will definitely crank)

It will start fine with the clutch pulled in, however, it will only go for 50 or so yards before the engine cuts out. No problems restarting, but again it will only go a short .... I attempted to start it a couple days ago, turned on the switch and got no power to anything at all, starter, lights horn. I removed the seat and checked all the fuses, all good, battery fully charged. It goes like this, the battery has sufficient charge to energize the starter solenoid, but once the solenoid contacts close and power is supplied to the motor, voltage to the solenoid drops and the contacts open, removing power to the motor.Noisy lifters - HELP!
